Just setup the old four-footer today and I guess that due to the cold weather it''s gonna take a while to warm up the water.  My question is in regards to the heater, I''m assuming that when it''s orange light is on that it''s actually heating?  Is that the case or does the light merely indicate that it has power?<

>Thanks

Orange light = heater is working<

Dyce

light off = heater not needed = heater "off".<
>light on = heater working at heating the water.<
><
>And if you have a 300 watt heater the coils''ll light up like a home heater, or it could just be my crappy heaters haha. fish fish fish fish turkey fish fish gobble

Actually it was a case of "light on" "heater screwed".<

>The temperature had actually gone dowm overnight.  I pulled out the heater and it just wouldn''t warm up at all, must have a
oken coil I guess.  It''s only an old 150 w thing anyway, what''s the best size for a 230lt tank?<

ashhhh

get a 300watt heater, they are not much more $$$ and it wont work as hard as a lesser wattage heater,  I generally oversize some things like my filters and heaters so they can easily cope with more load if need be, just piece of mind for me personally thats wot I reckon anyways<
