my dad  had my fish tank and when his fish died he just let the water evaporate.  it left a nasty film that i have almost cleaned out.  there are just a couple more streaks and nasty marks that i can''t remove.  i reallly need help soon because i want to reuse the tank.

i was told to use an old credit card.<
>this actually works really well, especially on greenspot algae and any other film.<
>Don''t use a scourer of course.<
><
>so yeh just find an old credit card (or similar) and scrape the glass with that. Steven & Amy<

metho on a rag and elbow grease cleans pretty much anything off of glass fish fish fish fish turkey fish fish gobble

If it is an oily film use bicarb soda or pH up to kill it.<

>If it looks like a hard deposit (useually CaCO3) use pH down or vinegar to kill it. <

thanks, the area that is dirty is smooth though, like nothing''s on the glass.  it looks like its in between the glass(sound dumb) but that''s what it looks like.

I actually cleaned it with some baking soda and some kind of scrubber that my mom gave me.  it came off but i think the smell is still there.  the new dweller keeps rubbing its head on the glass where the marks were.  i''ve wiped it several times but it keeps happening <

actually, when you look at it, the marks did not come all the way off.  i keep it clean so i guess its germ free.  its just not appealing to the eye. i just hope there aren''t any germs that can harm the new pet.
