happy happy got fry

Hi all a few weeks back now i was at a aquarium shop looking around at the africans anyways i looked in a mixed tank and i noticed a few females had mouthfulls its just the fish alone were 30 bucks each at close to full grown and anyways i bought them came home sat them in the fish shed in a 2 footer by them self then about 2 weeks later i decided to strip both of them and i end up getting close to 50 fry of each female now i''m glad i bought them anyways the fish has been pretty much payed off now so i am really happy by the way they were peacocks. If they were in a mixed tank there would be a great chance that the fry are crosses. What other fish were in the tank?

just make sure your not getting hy

Well lol lucky you should say that because some fish look like the parent and others look like the 2nd fish i bought but i am sure i have got the same fish from each parent both parents look like they had each others.Ohh and the mixed tank wass all peacocks anyway. Thankyou.....Jordan

They called the peacocks assorted so i am not to sure but 1 female is all orange with black eyes i thought maybe i had albono but i am pretty sure albinos have white eyes so i dont now and the other is a greyish colour with black eyes. Thankyou.....Jordan

jordan,true albinos have red eyes .so what lfs"s are calling assorted peacocks,usually mean thy dont know the true name of them as there is that many around. good luck with the fry tho,

Those ''Assorted Peacock'' etc tanks at LFS really $hit me, because you end up with these problems. People have no idea what they are buying and you end up with hy
