Well I would just like to thank the guys and girls on here
Over the last few months I have picked up some great fish
I have all my favourite fish and I can tell you I have expensive taste lol
But I got all of them at one quarter of what you would get them in the shops most even cheaper
And for the guys having a mud sling in the trader you can get fronties for $25 each over 8 cms and gess what they look like a pair to me lol
So thanks again and keep up the good work

I would just like to add the fish I got were from people that were selling out or down sizing
So the price was right for them I had a long time to look over these fish and I thought they looked pritty good for what they were
And for the people that have spoken to me in chat
My wayward daughter has shown up at her big sisters place a little worse for ware but safe
he foot steps in the sands of time arn't made by sitting on your ass

Thats a big call.
I have personally seen the FISH in question and although I am not a fronnie man myself I actually considered buying them they were so nice.
Don't judge prices for fish with out first having an idea about the quality.
Sure, I can get yellows for $2.00 each at 7-8cm but they look that bad that you would only use them for feeders.
People pay good money for quality fish. I have seen this time and again.
I saw the comedy in the reply to the offer. I guess the person who made the offer didn't.
Ppl should learn to take things with a grain of salt, or maybe a humour patch could be installed on the computer of everyone on the forum. Would makle life a lot easier on here.
If you have any doubt about how I view the majority of ppl on this forum just read my signature.

That's the thing with communicating on the net, you dont see the other guys face, if they're being humourous or being a smartass you can't tell. I guess it pays to assume the former and if it's the latter then the fault is with the other guy.

Id have to agree and disagree,

I still think alot of the 6 bars, especially the colonys are overpriced now with new imports. Lets face it, alot more variety to spend your $$ on and get a fish that when they breed will fetch a high price.

And I have seen some pretty nice kigoma for sale at 8+cm for $50.

But in saying all that i havent seen the pair in the thread your talking about, they could be really great, still with them becoming more and more common the people who are going to be buying them arnt going to know the difference 9/10.

someone,

DeagonTheo

When I came onto the forum 2 years ago, Frontosa Colonies were selling between $800 and $1500.

Now they are selling somewhere in the vicinity of $400-$500 and less, I cant see how thats overpriced.

Considering it takes around 3 years or more to get a Colony going properly, I think someone buying breeders at an average of $100 per fish is doing pretty well.

The market determines the price of all goods, including fish, and seeing I had 3 offers of $230 plus for the pair, I think it goes without saying that the price was right.

I've spent over half my life in sales, and there is a right way and a wrong way to make an offer, offering half the asking price is not the right way.

If anyone thinks making an offer for half the asking price is fine, then when you put your house on the market for $200,000 and someone offers you $100,000, I'll ask you how you feel, I'm sure you will agree its not the done thing.

From time to time fish come onto the forum at a very good price, usually because the seller hasn't got time to fool around and wants the fish gone for one reason or another. People look at these prices and then think that everyone should sell them at that low price which is highly unreasonable.

There is nothing wrong with offering people a lower price, especially when buying in quantity, just remember you're going to be a seller one day, so treat the other person with respect and you'll find that you come out on top every time and with a good price.

Theo

Well opinions on fish prices are like... well you know.

But I did notice there where alot of colonies and adult fish for sale over the last few months, Dont know if that directly related to the new imports, but like you said the market will dictate, They may continue to drop, or still stay high.

But i think everyone has to lossen up abit, there is a huge difference between 100k and $100, and a business and hobby. Ages 8-80 on here, I would hate to think some young person with $100 would get a barreling just for trying there luck.

DeagonTheo

That "Young Person" had a pretty sharp tongue, considering my measured response to his offer.
Theo

I wasnt saying he was young, just being general, nothing personal, just think everyone could do with being alittle more diplomatic.

Cory Fan

I guess to be fair, when someone ask for offer, the buyer have the right to offer whatever amount they feel right to them whether or not it is a good offer or silly offer. And when a seller asking for offer, please be prepare to get a silly offer too as everyone is after a bargain.

But I also like to point out that many people like to reply a post withour first reading the post probably. When u see a near offer, I guess u don't offer a half price.

But anyway, offer is still an offer. If a buyer is not happy with the price offer. They can always said " No, Thanks".

Cheers

I agree too Thomas, and all throught this thing, I have had a bit of a laugh, even my initial response was said in jest, with just a hint of a bit of a dig.
Unfortunately some people cant take a bit of a ribbing, and the whole thing blew up because of that.
I believe I kept cool throught the whole thing and never once felt upset.
One thing I do know, is that you'll never get anywhere making ridiculous offers. All you're doing is giving somebody else a better chance of getting whatever it is you are after.

Sigmaphile

I have to admit, it was one of the best lines I have heard all year.
Thanks for the laugh Theo.
