Gday everyone, <
>I''m a newbie and was just after some advice for stocking my tank. The tank is 7ft by 3ft by 2.5ft and hold approx 1400 litres. It currently has 1 red devil (6inchs), 1 Sailfin Pleco (6inchs) & and a Jack Dempsey (5inches). So was basically wondering what else would be compatible with these fish and how many fish could be added with out overcrowding the tank once these fish reach a mature size. <
>Cheers

nice tank  <
><
>they are already fairly mature fish so you''re going to be wanting some fairly large fish to go in, some festae would look nice and be able to defend themselves against the dev, a nice school of silver dollars as dithers or a dovii may be ok also, if you wanted an american community tank your best to start off with a bunch of juvenille fish as they tend to tollerate eachother a bit more than grump mature fish

ashhhh

>they will not only defend themselves they will dominate<
>(from my experiences with them they should be kept as a pair or by themselves, but each to there own.....)<

it all depends on the individual fish, I keep my fully grown festae with oscars, chocolates, salvini and a male devil <
><
>and that is in a 5x2x2 so in a tank of that size you should be right, just provide enough territories and keep an eye on them when introducing new fish
