can anyone reccomend a good book to get. i mainly keep malawi cichlids.
i've heard that Malawi Cichlids in their natural Habitat - 3rd Edition is an excellent book but just wanted to hear your thoughts.
cheers

Paul

I can't recommend any books for you but I would think the internet would be a better source of up to date information. I can't imagine there would be too much you could find in a book that is not covered online. Perhaps try Annerly aquarium, they have quite alot of books. also age of aquariums has a few as well.  You could also try amazon.com

hope this helps!

dr axelrod and ad konings are the kings when  it comes to fish books

Books are more acurate though.
Lots of very good people on internet with very good advice but unfortunately a lot of dribble as well.
Someone new to hobby may not yet know the difference. :)

If Africans are your thing any of the Ad Konning books are good value.

Cheers Linda

I tend to more agree with Linda here. Sure the net is great but some of the information isn't accurate at all. There are some good sites, I tend to only read those that are by experienced or known hobbyists, enthusists...Some books are more upto date the net too.

Today I was at Aquarium & Petland in Nind St. Excuse me Michael???what was that book you showed me??? They have some wicked zebs in the shop at the moment, great looking & prices too. {I may have to go back, must resist temptation...  :o }eg; Lab.. Mbamba Bay, Pseud..Modoka long fins, Pseud..Cyaneus all of which the pictures are in "the" book :D  But to find a picture or information on the net on some of them :(

A book I like for all cichlid keepers, covers water, feeding, breeding, treating....
