good luck with saving the rest

Shit Mark, that really sucks mate. I've had a couple of near misses myself with faulty heaters over the years, I'm glad I heat my whole fishroom now with the air-conditioner & don't need to rely on heaters. I hope you're able to save enough to get them breeding some replacements for you.

I know how ya feel I went on holidays for 2 days come back and heater had stuck on and I lost a breeding trio of calvus and a pair of orange lelupi.

So sorry to read. The problem with the hobby for me is the reliance on the bits & bobs to work. We get the fish happy, the water right then bang a dodgy heater.
I have a heater set on the lowest it can go & the tank runs at 25 degrees.   I am glad we are getting to the stage where the heaters are about to go off for the season.

Oh nooooo  what a sad day to see the chimpimbi gone, I am very sorry for you mate. I took a couple of dodgy heaters (tetratec) out last week from my fry tank lucky me I did not have any fish in there. I keeping a close look on the temperature now, I use mostly Jager heaters.
