Didn't make it

. . . 'cause I got given a last minute ticket to the Aust V Britain league match!  :D

Am interested to hear how it went however. What was the new venue like?

Hi Guys,

New venue was great, very roomy and a nice breeze blowing through, so quite comfortable. Good crowd, good for sellers, very few passins, most fish sold for prices sellers would have been happy with. Finished quite early, around 10:30.

Cheers, Doug

Good to hear you guys are ok.
We were a little worried.

New Venue was Awesome in my opinion.
There weren't to many bargains.
Defineatly a sellers auction.

John.

Yeah the venue was top notch.
The runners were great ( well done Doug)

The fish were so so. I got a nice Dolphin Fish male but paid top dollar and some J. Mallerei which were very small and have lost 2 already in my tank :<

well lets see venue was much much better  lots more room better food and more comfortable  heaps of room to spread out and the venue was easy to find and get to.

As far as fish   the usual mix although not as many red tops   but heaps of multis  which was unusual. Lots of things went for good prices but some over the top orange spot b/nose were a bit high. But lots of good buys and some unusual fish   like   calvus   some fronnies   occies  flame tail albino afra) dammn i wanted some of those)  and some really good pairs and single bristle nose  and how many types or cory's were there. But like all auction buyer be ware.

I also got some malareri and like you said small fish   but mine are ok so far  but sat on bottom of tank for a bit but eating now so fingers crossed

anyway loved the auction cant wait for next one   lol   peter

Yeah. I wish I had of made it - But work happened to have it's 50th Anniversy (free alcohol and food) so I couldn't make it.

Did Mick (Trofius make it?) I'm asumming he came down for both.

Hopefully the new venue is to stay. The old one got cramped, there were poles in the way and it was like you were in a pub with no beer before the cigarette laws were passed.

They had albino afra's????  8O  Wow, very adventurous for the auction. Hope there's more surprises like that at the next one!

Did anyone notice any people buying up all the tropical species, logs, and ornaments in the first hour or so? That's what I usually saw in the front rows at the Clayfield venue. Then they'd load the car up for the Sunday market stall next day.    (not that there's anything wrong with that, good business for the QFAS)
