hi guys,
i dont wanna sound like a crabby old lady, but do you think we should have somesort of requirements for the aquarium trader.
like not selling fish 2 weeks old or such like in this link

thought Big Brother was finished on monday

I think steve's post has relavance.
there is know way fish should be sold if they are 2 weeks old, they wouldn't have even finished ther egg sacks by then!
you can't tell if there is something wrong with the fish at that age or a new person to the forum could buy these at that age (not knowing) and they could all die on the trip home.
there are too many cons as apposed to pros.
i'm with you steve the mods should put something in the 'terms for aquarium trader' (or what ever that post is called.... you know the one :? )
Boyd
i agree with you 100% boyd but there are nicer ways to put things and we are never to old for advise thats how we learn. its bad enough having road rage with out having forum rage........... :D :D :D :D :D
ps:not having a go at any one but politeness starts at home(costmotiger).

i did not mean to be offensive, i just feel very strong about the topic.
thats all.
my comments were only made in referance to the post not about it!
Any way i'm happy! :D :D 8O :D
Boyd
sweat....... :D :D :D :D :D
ps:still learning and hopefully always learing
cheers mate
The urge to delete Barbies post nearly got the better of me...
But then I thought, what sort of tard is gonna buy fish 2 weeks old anyway. If they do, they deserve everything they get (or don't as the case may be).
just to give an idea of the size that fish should be sold , at any auction there is a size limit. all fish MUST be 4cm, UNLESS they are a small shell dweller or tetra.
maybe keep this in mind when selling fish on here too!!!!
i totally agree with you wayne.

maybe put sticky post like this in trader (worded a little better of course)
would make it clear for everyone that posts there then.......
just a suggestion
I agree with what the crabby old lady was saying but at the end of the day she has offered 120 fish for $100. You wouldn't do that unless you had no choice or no tankspace to grow them out surely. Probably should know the situation before having a go at someone. as for eggsacks, only if you stripped them fairly early, most of my fry are free swimming at 2 days
[quote:ed92bc6e00]120 fish for $100[/quote:ed92bc6e00]
yeah but they are only worth half that at legit sizes
steve,
but no one is making you buy them....
i think just a bit of common sence would come into play here.

ok i know you or me wouldnt buy these fish, but what about someone who only just started in the hobby see's 120 fish for $100 thinks its a bargain, buy the time he gets home with them he has only 20 left. Shouldnt there be measures to protect the people who are as knowledgable as some.
I know what I would like to say about the post that started this, but "common sense" says I would probably get banned!
But seriously, fry like that could be used as feeders or given to a fisho mate with a bit of spare room to grow out. I, like most others, think there needs to be a rule stopping this sort of post from happening again. Most people wouldn't be sucked in by an ad like that, but some newbies might be so I think we should look out for them. Just my two cents worth.
Dave.
i hear where ya coming from dave and i wonder how an "ADOPT A NEWBIE" program might work???
