Hi all, just ppicked up a few new tangs from the lfs, only one of each though so would like to get em some mates. Just wanted to know how hard they are to get hold of and how much I could expect to pay. These fish are not really adults but much bigger than most of the juvies you would normally buy from the lfs. Here are thier names.
Lepidiolamprologus elongatus,
Neolamprologus moori (Cameron Bay??),
Neolamprologu modestus,
Neolamprologus sexfasciatus (i think Kipili).
Thanks for your help guys and gals,
Dave.
I can't help you with mates
but i would love to know the name of the shop you got these fish from!
Cheers
Boyd
Hoping these are the right names, that is what he bought them as from importers in Melbourne and they seem to match up with the pics in Ad Konings books. He is just a small pet shop here in Central Qld, was part of his own collection that he decided he didn't want anymore. Any ideas on value? Swapped him a few yellows, blues and flamebacks for em. :?
Dave.
are you sure its a Neolamprologus modestus, i have never seen these before!
Boyd
pretty sure, pics match. Picking them up next week, he is going to write down there scientific names for me, his pronounciation is, well, out there! Will check for sure then, but at this stage i think thats the one.
Dave.
hi Dave
the elongatus and sexfasciatus can be obtained from any lfs i think, in rocky $20-25 bucks at neptunes, ~5-6cm. the moorii, and the modestus may be more difficult at resonable prices. only ever met obne lad with moori, and they are going like rabbits if you want any fry!
Thanks for that Mick, might be interested in the moori fry, is he a CQ local? Going to pick the fish up today so will try to get some pics up later.
Thanks.
Dave.
No probs Dave.
the guy with the Moorii lives on the sunny coast, last i visited him he had several spawns on the go. The N.moorii, is also sometimes refered to as Variabilichromis moorii, I will find out if he wants to sell any for you.
