Title: Is there such a thing as a quiet airpump?
Post by: Director12 on August 18, 2005, 11:36:59 AM
I've got one of those dual diaphragm thingies which does the job, but vibrates quite loudly.  Is there any other type out there that aint so noisy?

cheers

The Rena airpumps are supposed to be the quietist on the market, and also the ehiem airpumps should be super quiet plus they have a silicon diaphragm. Pretty much you get what u pay for, the cheap chinese made ones always get noisy after a while.

$$$$$$$$$

Cost is all pervasive,   Weiss is probably the best small pump made (1 to 20 outlets) .  Variable power adjustment, all metal, insulated, and quiet as, but I don't think any one imports them any more.  They were like 20 times the cost of a Rena !!!!

But that is like comparing a Holden to a Rolls Royce.     The other cheap stuff out there is what the market will pay, but you get what you pay for.
