Title: Lifespan of an airpump?
Post by: Dyce on August 24, 2005, 10:05:34 AM
I have one of those 4 outlet Resun airpumps which I've been running constantly for around a year now, anyways it seems the airpressures gone down alot since when I first used by a fairly great deal.

If I stop the airpump and let it sit will it get any better? And what is the lifespan of these airpumps?

Thats a bit like running a car into the ground and then asking if you let it sit for a while will it get better. NO it will never get better, it might last longer if you dont use it for 6 months.
New diaphrams might help.
The older pumps used to last for years, I dont think any of these new Chinese heaters and pumps last too long.
I've had 3 of those cheap heaters go on me this winter (2 yrs old if that) and yet I've got  heaters over 20 years old still going strong.
Unfortunately we all get sucked into buying the cheaper products but they just dont last.
