Aquarium warehouse has had them in the past that do the same kinda job as a black light without the harmful UV but I think you are talking about the moonlight which is totally different. Have seen them in the states and Europe but never in Aust, Its a fairly soft light that replicates the moon enough so you can see the fish that mainly come out at night. Check Ebay, might be your best bet<

not sure if this is the effect that you are after, but this is a blue light, not a black light, and the fish are not keen on it, and i dont blame em because it really hurts my eyes, to look at it.<
><
>it is a phillips TLD36w/18 Blue the g/f got it from her work as they dont use em anymore.<

woha dam thats
ite!<
>I have a 4ft display tank and my lights are setup on timers simulating dawn daylight dusk and moonlight.<
>The moon light one is simply a 2ft actinic globe (4ft tube a bit too
ight) gives a nice moonlit effect and is dark enough for all my different type of catfish to come out and light enough to see em, and not to glary whilst watching tv - everyones happy<

Have alook at some of the salt sites like, reefing the australian way and m.a.s.a. those guys are always talking about that sort of thing ,I beleive they use very low voltage but high intensity diodes or similar.<

so its not so
ight cut some strips of corflute, the white stuff for sale signs are made out of lay that across the top of the tank, you can just have a gap in the middle or put a piece in the middle so you get light at both ends......good effect!!<

unless you allready have the light unit, personally I dont see the point in buying something ultra
ight to only block most of it with for sale sign material.......but thats up to you.<
>Have a look at tanks allready set up with different lighting sytems, and undoubtedly the actinic flouro will be cheapest and just as effective.........and your fish wont need to wear sunnys.........<
>happy light shopping<
