Title: Making fishtanks.
Post by: Dyce on July 05, 2005, 12:09:00 AM
So I''ve found a horde of peices of glass at my local tipshop for a few dollars a sheet, just guessing here but tank size would probably end up being 800x400x450 give or take, the glass thickness is around 4mm and all up glass would cost around 11$ anyways I want to have a crack at making it into a tank, only thing I need would be rails...<
><
>Anyways, does anyone have any tips on easiest way to put it together without turning it into a complete screw up?<

>It doesn''t have to be aesthaetically pleasing but not an explosion on filling it with water. fish fish fish fish turkey fish fish gobble

Normally glass that thin is not used for tanks at all just too weak. - Also if it is old it will be
ittle and may be uneven in thickness , which will make it harder to cut cleanly.<
>My suggestion is don''t use it for tanks.<
>If you still want to make tanks out of it make sure you uses side
aces and keep the tank size small  - no bigger than 450 x 200 x 200, and even that may be too large.<

600 x 300 x 300mm - 4mm = OK.<

If not you could always use it for lids.
