Title: Was it a sick fish?
Post by: Director12 on July 06, 2005, 06:50:00 PM
Dammit.<
><
>I bought a clown loach and a female
istlenose for my tank on Monday and the
istly went fins-up yesterday.  I''ve had no other fishy deaths at all.  Just a sick fish?  She seemed OK up till yesterday. <

Were they baby bn''s? or under 5cm, because I know from experiences that they are pretty iffy when young.<

Temp is around 26.5 PH a little on the alkaline side ATM but not hugely. No aggressive in there either. Bristly was about 4cm. :-(

could be from 101 reasons but,<
>maybe you should have checked all your parameters and then posted your results so as everyone knows something about your tank rather than nothing.Have you got kids?check your panadol pkt, kids have been known to ''help the fishies'', no thanks to that add that was on tv that was pulled of air due to that very reason...... Cheers<

Thanks for the replies all.<

>Nitrites and ammonia levels ''should'' be fine.  NO the kids didn''t chuck anything else in the tank.  As I said before ALL the other fish in the tank are happy and thriving as is the clown loach I got from the same LFS as the
istly.  It''s a 4'' community tank with no agressive fishies (save one male betta, but he''s in a betta tank.).  Next time I think I''ll get some
istlies from the ''trader'' section here instead. :-)<
