compared to how dull in colour the old one was, this one hurts my eyes...

Not sure, I found the old one easier to read, probably due to the simple format.  This one is more colourful for sure and I guess it will grow on me. I really don't think it matters much, I come here for the content, not the colour scheme. But nice job just the same.

yeah the new theme is good.

I would change the header..... just doesnt blend in with the rest of the site.

this is a quick one i did this morning.

I dont mind the yellow but i think it would work better as an orange.

Yea thats great, i was going to ask for people to submit there ideas, im sure not a graphic designer, send them in or make new ones,

Only thing is it does need to be a standard size, here is the blank template, you can make it an extra 1 or 2 inches longer if you like.
