Can anyone suggest which type of flake they would recommend for Angels, silver sharks? Any help would be great.

i am using the osi growth and colour flake.
great for all of my fish, cichlids, loaches tropicals etc.
i don't think there is any of my fish that won't take it.
HBH Tropical Flake Frenzy will be a good one to use, for the fish mentioned.

whta should you look for with flake cause theres some ath woolies for about a third of the price of the fish shop. is it bad for the fish?

i got like, 2.2kg of the osi from AOA for $100ish dollars i think it was.
that was some time ago too.
The cheap brands tend to not have as many goodies in them. You won't get as good a colouring/health in your fish.

but the best way to tell if its a good brand is to smell it if it smells like fish its probly good
I alway look for the protean contant if its around 45% it should be ok

yeah ive tried a few types but found that some fish (mostly africans) dont like the cheep stuff as much

Mind get feed once a day,,,, on most days. I have miss a few days in the last month or so, due to work. I dont think they need to be feed everyday. Look at the fish in the wild.

To the original question. I would say HBH frenzy would be your best bet.
At Aquairums Alive they have inhouse packaged food that they do, and its HBH flake frenzy. Buy 3 get one free. Better value than buying the large HBH containers.
What about everyone else, How offen do you feed your fish?

I feed mine 2-3 times daily.
Ii I feed flake I use Sera flakes. I mix mine up though which the fish seem to love. I mix up Sera Flora, Vipan and Marin into 1 mixture and the fish pick and choose the bits they like. Hope this helps.

Adam would have to disagree with you there. How many generations has it been since most of these fish have been wild? Majority have been breed that many times in a tank they wouldnt know what is like to go without feeding. I personally think that they would be loosing their wild characteristics more every generation.

yep, mine are fed once a day, each day somethin different ; mysis, brine, bloodwrm, flake and pellets :P
I feed all mine sera flora, they all seem to love it, from herbivorous tropheus and caties to carnivourus nasties.
As for how often, depends on what they are used to , once in the morning, would suit most people , but idealy a little bit several times through the day is best, in the wild they would be grazing almost all day!
