I was wondering were most people get there tanks drilled, or can you do it yourself easily and safely.

Bob drill holes in tanks.  Price depends on how many you want and how far he has to travel.
Its a bit tricky but possible to do yourself but the biggest problem is the diamond drills used are very expensive so not worth the money unless you are using a lot.

i know there was one guy that charged $10.00 for the first hole and $5.00 for each after that.....but that was a while ago, and now fuel has gone up so might have his prices....

Hi Jason,

I guess it is not that hard to drill it yourself. I had just drilled the first hole this morning.

Also the diamond core drill is not that expensive neither if you planning to drill many holes. I get mine ~$40-50. Not too sure as get them few months ago

Cheers

Jason,
Bob- Grumpyold.
He drilled a few holes for me a while ago and I will be getting him back in the future to do some more if possible. I can't remember the price but the best bit about the whole exercise was the info and experiences he shared was worth it's weight in gold. The holes he drilled where just a bonus the way I saw it. Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Bryce.

Post by: plokijuhygtfr on December 02, 2005, 09:50:11 AM
i found drilling tanks pretty easy

1/ variable speed drill
2/constant water on drill site
3/ go slow

i even didnot take the fish out of the tank, just lower the water level

i have  a couple of never used small diamond drills i am willing to sell @ $25 ea
