A general question: What would a breeding pair of convicts cost. Are they hard to breed.

cheers lee

Hey buddy, Look to spend around 15-20 for a breeding pair of these rare beauties. As far as breeding goes yes they are extremely difficult to breed, the most challenging part I found was finding the bucket to put the water in the tank but once that was done I was rewarded with many lovely fry.  All the best

man, i sold a pair for $5... constant breeders etc.
i wouldn't pay more than $10 for a pair, $15 max.

easy as to breed, just give them a small cave or pot and they'll be popping fry out all the time.

Lee, very easy to breed and aren't expensive at all. If anything, people have trouble getting rid of them.
However, a lot of us here started out in the hobby with Convicts as Convicts are interesting and fun fish to breed and keep. Don't expect to make any money on selling the fry, but they're good for experience.

:D  I picked my pair up months ago for $5 for the pair....
I bought them to feed the fry to my Fronnie... but even HE won't touch em!  neither will the Oscars!:?

So now I have truckloads of convicts taking up space.. :(
