Yes, i was there too, i was the lucky person to snag the large jack dempseys for a steal at $44.

i also came home with the trio of elec blues for $22,some driftwood and plants also.

I brought jjfish along for the first time and he thought it was great,he took home a pair of texas,(good female ready to breed)electric blues and yellows.A pair of bristelnose and a colony of flamebacks ended the night.

All in all was a great night and can't wait untill the next Auction.

I wish I could have gotten there but I had to work until 3pm and drop of some fish so by the time I got home it was getting too late to drive all that way back across town. It is good to see that a lot of people went home happy??

Wayne, any luck on that price for the Tank, Stand????????

Also keep your ears open to anyone after a breeding colony. My 6ft is overstocked as they all grew up. All breeding and causing problems so I have to unfortunately part with one of the colonies.

Let meknow if you ehar of anyone. I will have to advertise them by the end of november in the paper otherwise. I would prefer they went to someone that wants to breed them and knows that they are doing??? Or I would hope that they know what they are doing.

Yeah a bit more variety this auction: -
For the African lovers some less common Mbuna on offer. Also a large selection of Discus - plenty of different morphs on offer. A real nice selection of Tangs - some real pleased Tang lovers walked away happy I'd dare say   . And a big selection of catfish (aside from the shed-load of bristlenose!).

All in all a good night, and congrats to the organisers that always do a great job - hard work last night as it seemed to be lots of sellers, not many buyers. Which reminds me, a few Mbuna lovers at past auctions that didn't seem to be there last night - they missed out on some great fish!

And a bit of critique if I may: a great job on the photos up front as it ain't an easy job I'm sure. However sometimes a shame some photos didn't get up there in time as I'm sure a few people in the audience would have snapped up fish if they saw what what was on offer. I wonder if there's a quicker way to select a photo from the massive library?   Dare I ask was it wireless Net? I find the Cichlid-Form from Nth America has a quick fire reference on just about all cichlid species for example. But still did a great job and not much missed just the same.

Like I say, a hard job to do last night and I'm glad you people put it on every six months.

Poor Greg. He does a great job. He does miss the odd thing but its usually due to having to change discs.  Not up on computers myself so I have no idea what system he has or if theres a better one.
Sometimes hes busy sorting out peoples money too as he also has to work out everyones accounts for the end.

they were using the aqualex cd's and i'm not sure what else.
he did a great job, a shame as it was the pics couldn't come up quicker, he's only human.
i sure as heck wouldn't want to have to go through the thousands upon thousands of profiles.

great job all involved, looking forward to the next :D

A lot of the photos there are also from own private photo collection. He goes around all the time taking new photos for the auctions.
If anyone has anything new or the photo on the aqualex isn't very flattering you can send him photos to add to the collection.

It's a shame I had a prior engagement at the "Arena".  8)
Sounds like I missed out on a good Auction.

From previous brissie auctions, Greg does a great job, be hard to recongise a fish name & then to find it. Maybe a set up like this for the Goldie Auctions? :?

Frenchy :D

Geez, it was such a long time ago . . .
I ain't a Tang nut so probably got it all crosswired but I think they had some featherfins(exactly what can't remember), a few Frontosa (I'm sure there was a 7 bar in there somewhere but could be wrong), some Julidochromis but again, can't remember what types, and other Tangs but can't really remember now.
Someone that's a Tang enthusiast might have a better clue, unlike me.
I just remember thinking it was interesting how manyTangs were going thru this auction.

Yeah it was a while ago now...  :?

Umm, there were (if I recall correctly, and im not so sure of that sometimes... ) -

Calvus
Elongatus
Moorii

Cant remember any feather fins or Julis, but that's not to say they

Feel free to correct me on the above!!
