Title: Auction wrap-up
Post by: GTR73 on July 17, 2005, 06:22:00 PM
Ok, so hit me - how was the auction last night? Was it a big turn out? Anything special come up either rare or new?

Was pretty average i mean the fish were all the commons except for the Sumbu that came up, first 2 pairs went for just over $100 each and another later in the night for just over $80 i think. Was pretty busy and people seemed to hang around (except wayne ) longer than they normally do even though it was freezing cold. Overall pretty good

well i dont no about all that all i no was lot of fish. Im sick of hearing the words Blue,yellow,bnose... But the pizza at the end was pritty sweet idea I also think that prices were good on the fish and most of them seemed to sell. <
><
>I think the problem is a lot of smaller ppl (eg) Just hobbie ppl don''t sell there fish at them and a lot of
eeders do resolting in a lot of the same fish would be good to see a lot of the (little) ppl selling just there odd''s and end''s fish they don''t really want would make for a little more variety IMO.<
><
>Also there is no need to post after me some @#%$ about how im haveing ago at the ppl who do sell or work there i think the event is great and all the staff are champs and don''t get enuf priase for what they do. <
><
>Just a little creative critasism never hurt anyone. sorry about the spelling spell cheak wont work.<

I was there from 3-6:30 and there was a fair ammount of different fish compared to what I''ve seen before hand(aka your flamebacks by the bucketloads) such as
eeding trio''s of cories, some other catties, krib pairs, and some peacocks.<
><
>I know I went home with a fair ammount of fish. 12 Sunshine peacocks, 6 electric yellows, 3 peppered corys, 4 albino cories, 6 swordtails, and a pair of kribs. fish fish fish fish turkey fish fish gobble

How'' your Sunshine Peacocks look, ok? <
>Aulonocara are one species that''s hard to tee up at the auction I''ve found. You either end up arranging to meet a
eeder before hand, and know what you''re getting, or take the punt and bid on something you can''t really see from 10 metres away. Problem is they hy
idize so easily so there''s that chance they end up being duds. On the other hand the punt can pay off - I''ve known
eeders sell there German imported males there, and some lucky dog ends up with one for $25! <
>Not meaning to have a go or anything. I''m sure you scored some nice peacocks anyway Dycie. Just interested on what measures you take to get them at an auction.<
