i like both aro but i would like to know which 1 is better to keep as a pet? i would like experiences and opinion of ppl who have kept it be4. like which 1 has probs etc.
It's a personal preference thing. They are two totally different fish in looks and behaviour. I prefer the silver since I like the sinuous way they swim. As flexible as a snake and they coil up like one before they bite too.
Silver arows will grow a little larger than the asian green. Either way be prepared to house it in at least a 6ft tank and preferable wider than 2ft as they like to cruise up and down the tank and pull some fast 180 turns. The silver will like to jump and slap the side of the tank a lot more than the asians. Either way both will jump and go spastic if feeling threatened and can cause damage to themselves, usually only fins and a missing scales which heals quite fast usually within a week or two. Overall I think the silver is a little more shy and will sink to the bottom of the tank when scared. the asian is a little more curious and investigate. The silver is a much nicer display fish than an asian green. The the silver has nice large pink/red crested scales when it gets older. The green is only average grey/green coloured. Drop eye is inevitable in the silver, not as likely with an asian.
