Title: will bristlenose eat fry
Post by: pawal on January 06, 2006, 12:17:44 AM
Hi all, quick question, I have a 2'x18''x18'' tank spare at the moment, it only has a couple of little borneo suckers/hillstream loaches.  I am thinking about using the tank as a fry raising tank for my cichlids.  I am also thinking about putting some bristlenoses in this tank.  I know that the bristlenoses would eat the cichlid eggs if I placed them in the tank, but if I placed small cichlid fry in the tank with the bristlenoses and the borneos, would the cats harm the cichlid fry?  Any input would be great.  Thanks

Shouldn't as long as the cichlid fry aren't really tiny.
We raise cichlids and BN together from about 2cm and havn't had problems.

I know cories are a risk to fry but I'm pretty sure BN's are fine

Thanks guys for your responses, I kind of figured that would be the case, but it doesn't hurt to get a sceond or third opinion.  Thanks again.
