www.planetcatfish.com  will give you all the info you want and need

The question is going to be how much money do you want to spend!

Most of the Pleckoltia species will live comfortably in a 2fter.
But there is plent more to choice from!

Hi Brad,

For $50 your going to be pretty resticted for a smaller pleco, something like Peps, Ospots, albino bnose, calico bnose, long fined bnose (normal, calico, albino) or L104.

For a little bit more $ you could get yourself L168 (nice looking fish).

The're an expensive addiction !!

Cheers
Steve

in a 2 footer I'd reccomend 1, no more than 2 bristlenoses or varients and say 3 or so corydorus catfish

Bristlenose from five dollars to fiftey (or more) depending on varient -Size 4"-6"
Corydorus from about $4.50 to $17-$18 each depending on type Size Usually 1"-2"
Sory no real experience with the L104 or L168 fish price or size

Personally im not a cory fan at all, but if your looking for L168

http://www.planetcatfish.com/images/full/loricariidae/dekeyseria/brachyura/16.jpg

Aquariums alive has some for like $85 and they are 10cm so nearly full sized. A pepp or orange spot at the same size will probably cost you more than that. Worth a thought.

P.s. They only get to about 12-15 cm in length.

(I think your going to have to cut and paste the link cause it's not working for me.)

DO NOT put a royal in a 2ft tank!!!

If you are after an exotic plec that stays small then you are going to be spending at least $200 per fish, not taking into account the new L104 or L168)

Jamos is right...theres not a lot to pick from with $50 and a 2ft tank.
You could always go a 3ft tank and maybe a Gold Spot (Loo1) but other than that you a looking at serious money.
Even the 104 & 168 will get dearer as the supply that made it into Aust. starts to run out.  Lets hope someone breeds them soon.

I'm shipping all our cats go to Cairns on Saturday morning so we have fingers crossed that they willl love the cairns water.

It's certainly true, 2 foot and plecos ain't a good mix. Perhaps 2.5 foot would be your barest minimum, throw in a few tetras and barbs with a bit of Anubias and Bobs your uncle, friend, fish seller whatever. Your choice as to whether you put a few varieties of corys or just put in a group of 6. Yes 6 in a group look very impressive since they do school. C. robinae might impress you. Throw in the a L333 for around $275 and whola-nice combo. But yep, a bigger tank is better!
