hi ,
have these worms in one of my tanks
they are like tiny bits of hair, at one end they are white.
any idea what they are, and how do i get rid of them.?????
cheers dave.
Do you feed micro worms.
no braddo,
its a 3ft with a pair of royal whiptail cats.
Do you use water from your hot water system to do changes it happened to me once & that is all I could put it down to.I got rid of mine by cranking up the temp & adding salt.(half handful a day for a week in an 8ftr.).
Brian.
no,
straight from the tap.
cheers dave.
Ok do they have 3 or 4 little tentacles on the end of the bit attacthed to the glass or furnishings of the tank (kinda like little sea anenomes)
no tentacles.
they are just like a tiny worm,
between 5-10mm long.
cheers dave.
ok I'm outta guesses see if someone else comes up with somethin.cheers brad
Are they free swimming. If so they are probably harmless. Can't remember what they are called but they aren't usually a problem.
If you had other fish in the tank they would probably eat them.
Linda
A friend of mine who had a goldfish tank had them once and they were worms from one of the goldfish that had died a day or so earlier. The thing was as we drained the tank down it absolutly stunk. And to get rid of them we had to sterilize everything including the gravel and start from scratch. Also had to treat the fish......
Good luck.
(they loofed like fine hairs all ove the glass etc...thousands of them
thanks for the reply's every one.
cheers dave.
I was just doing weekly water change & gravel vacuum & sucked up a couple of red clumps of what sounds like the same thing.they were either on the gravel surface or under it.They are balls of these worms all stuck together. All the fish in the tank look fit & healthy(to me??).I'm also useing tap water from Caboolture shire.
Brian.
Tank water smells fine to me also.
