Altolamprologus sp. 'compressiceps shell' (sumbu)?

Red, I dont think you are getting it  :?

We guess and Dave will point us in the right direction each day with a yes or no answer to our questions. That way we continually narrow it down to the fish that he's thinking of.

It's pointless guessing fish that no longer fit within the clues being given - ie: Pufferfish from the congo arent [b:0a4252bd6d]cichlids[/b:0a4252bd6d] from [b:0a4252bd6d]lake Tanganyika[/b:0a4252bd6d], nor is a Madagascan Rainbowfish.

Not trying to put you off having a go, just chuck in a bit of research and make sensible guesses.  :)

Cheers
Steve

Brad
Title:
Post by: red on January 20, 2006, 04:14:24 PM
just one question is it (max. size in aquarium or max. size in the wild.)

Neolamprologus leleupi
Title:
Post by: ndoboi on January 20, 2006, 04:27:43 PM
I guess there's a bit of conjecture over the size - just ask GC who thought I ripped him off in the last quiz

Not speaking for everybody here, but I use the reference material available to me (which generally cites wild lengths). Would also have to consider TL and SL if being super picky.

Anybody else have an opinion on this one??? Brad - do you want to lay down the law (or I may have missed one of the original rules)?

Neolamprologus Speciosus?
Title:
Post by: Aquariums Alive on January 20, 2006, 05:01:55 PM
Hey guys
Id say total length and depends on the Information you use
though if you want to use either its up to you Just another question to ask when a size has been confirmed [i:d40fe2420d][b:d40fe2420d]is that TL?[/b:d40fe2420d][/i:d40fe2420d] remember question has to be asked so a Yes or No can be answered

when im researching a fish i try and use a few differnet sources and usually work on the sources that seem to be the same
I.e if 5 resources say max size 10cm and 2 say 12cm
id go with the 10cm myself
Also depends on the resouces you use
If your using the net well it can be very difficult as there is alot of conflicting information
I try to keep this comp without many rules as it can make it confusing

where are the original rule's posted on this forum i would like to read them if available.

(thanyou everybody but it seem's to me  that learner's to some pepole seem
to be low class scum,
all i wanted is simple answer. if you wish to lay down the law so be it.)

i think i'll leave you to your silly little game.

Paracyprichromis nigripinnis ?

your's truly: red
Title:
Post by: Aquariums Alive on January 20, 2006, 05:26:18 PM
Sorry Red
but stay play the game
Ill try and find the original rules
It does make it hard for anyone new to play but the more people involved the better the game becomes and the harder to win

Fish must be available in Australia
Fish must be Freshwater (this is to keep more people involved)
Must answer every question with a Yes or No every day
Can only ask 1 question at a time
If your fish goes a full 7 days without being guessed and you have followed the rules you win
The prize is a $20 voucher at Aquariums Alive

Brad

Hey Red - No put downs intended mate. Where i said [quote:77823f9eff]Brad - do you want to lay down the law [/quote:77823f9eff] I was merely referring to Brad as the sponser of the quiz, not intending to shoot you down at all.

You are more than welcome here, this is a friendly forum with bugger all flaming (unless in jest).

Sure it's a silly little game, but we get to learn something from it.

Come on, stay involved and get to know us all a bit better as we do likewise with you.

Cheers
Steve

Thanks Dave, good fish to use - something a bit different.

I'd like to invite Red to kick off the next one. I've had a couple of goes recently and would like to share it 'round a bit.

Over to you Red, if you like, i've sent you a pm too.

Cheers
Steve
