Title: interesting clown loach behaviour.
Post by: climber05 on January 23, 2006, 12:16:38 PM
i recently purchased 3 clown loaches at about 7-10cm. Yesterday when i was watching them, 2 were having what looked like a fight. they turned a really strange tone of colour and kept locking jaws. this continued for about 10 minutes. just wondering if anyone else has experienced behaviour like this. it looked like it could've being a dominance thing.

I have 5 and I see the same thing happening with mine as well.
And I agree with you, I think it's a fight for dominance as well and no real harm is done.

i have 7, but the largest 3 on occasion will do their little dueling dance, the black goes grey, and they go at it.
no harm is done, and they get on their way.
i only see this happen once or twice every month or so?

The more domiant turn to the pale colours. We have 20 that live together in varying sizes but we only have two quite lage males that are pale in colour, each one living at the opposite end of the tank along with their pack.

cheers Danae.
