Hey, don't know if ur still asking...  my turtle tanks been inside about three years now. i have two sawshells in a 4fter and there's a huge old fence post propped up along the back with piles of river rock acting as the dry area (looks like a bridge). i use a 1200l/hr pump facing up with the oulet connected to a bit of hose coming over an out of water cave on the log creating a waterfall. so there's out of water area with light and dark, wet and dry. One goes up there all the time, the other hardly ever.  I use mondo grass and green/gold rush for on top of the fencepost and mainly fake plants for under water. The rock piles have crays and shrimp breeding in them and are good for feeder fish to hide from them. There's another pump on the other side which i use mainly for easy quick crap pick up and easy cleaning but i usually feed them messy food outside in a tub of water while they get sun. Sorry no pics, they might explain it a bit better. if u use calcium carb gravel or crushed coral mixed through it helps keep their shell hard.

sounds like a sweet set up i have not finished my set up yet but i am ganna have a end of the tank set up so that the feeders and whatever can live in there but the turtle cant get to them by usen a glass devider but haven a hole cut in it then haven some of that plasic grate stuff over the hole so the fishes can swim out to die but they can also stay there if they are smart and breed  so yeah should be good once i get off my arse
