Ya well its been one of those days
The new cat pulled one of the air lines from the pump
so when I got home this arvo I had 2 dead yellows and a sunhine peacock
and a few more sick ones but I think they will be ok
But these things happen
But I'm better off that that other guy that lost the lot
any way the 2 yellows where male and they fought like shit any way
so there ya go shit happends lol must be the week for it lol
I'm hearing you, I've lost 10 Yo Yo loaches in the last 1 1/2 days for absolutely no apparent reason. Out of a full tank of fish all thats gone were the Yo Yo's. No water changes, water fine, no temp. fluctuations, no new fish for about 2-3 months and same feeding routine. WTF?
Cheers,
Bryce.
Ya funny u said that I lost 1 a few weeks back
Water was fine
and it was one of the better ones so i just put down to heat or somthing
the same with my comps but a few peole have lost a heap over the last few months so it may be somthing in the water
I age my water over 2 weeks so it could be any thing
So good luck with the yoyo's
hmm, i found yo-yo's to be very hardy...
I had one jump out of a tank, but I didnt find him untill I stepped on him and he stuck to my foot from being half dry and tacky, anyways he wasnt moving much but put him back in the tank and he started breathing, all his fins disintergrated and the other yo-yos picked at them till they were all gone, but after 2-3 weeks he was pretty much back to his old self and back swimming with his buddies, he is actually the biggest of them all in there now lol
i'm getting the same with some bn.
i have a 4 foot tank with some hongi, elec blues, p. salousi and i had about 12 or so bn 5-9cm.
over the last couple of weeks i lost one every couple of days.
all other fish fine, water fine, water changes weekly, yet they're still dying.
wierd.
at least they were only common bn anyway :P
I was wrong sorry, I lost 8 and 2 were really dodgy looking but seem to be better now, they are out and about but not as active because they haven't got all their other mates to play with I'm thinking but are eating. Did a bit of a water change with the only difference being the ph went up from 7.3 to 7.4 and the temp dropped from 28*C down to 27*C. So bugger all changes overall really.
I've always found them to be very hardy which is why it suprised me that it was only them that carked it. I've got wild caught whiptails, some rams and a few different varieties of pleco's in this particular tank which I'd have thought would have been affected by any dramas before any other fish.
Just means I have to buy some more smaller 1's in a month or 2 and grow them up again after I leave things for a while to see what happens to the other 2. I'm hoping this was just another freak fish keeping experience but will reserve my judgement for the time being.
Cheers,
Bryce.
if you want you can feed that kitten to my jack or my dogs hehe
