in the last four months i've had two big eltric blue males jump out two different tanks. Is this common with them?

Yep,
sure is. I lost a female this morning and saved 2 males the other day cos they were chasing and jumping during breeding.

Just gotta to a lid on it and try to cover up every gap as best as you can no matter how small.

second that, lost many juv.adults from them jumping out of the tank when they fight.

I heard somewhere Africans sometimes use a reflex jumping action to escape trouble, if this eases your pain. Real bummer eh. :cry:
