Title: maximum head height for canister filter ???
Post by: Spider1980 on February 08, 2006, 09:14:28 PM
G'day all,

What would be the maximum head height that you could achieve with a canister filter.

Say an Aqua one 1200l per minute.

I am about to set up a system that would require the filter to pump water 1.8M high.

any info would be great

It will usually say in the specs of the filter. Might be worth a drive to the LFS.

You need a filter with a good water output and a strong flow

I used an OTTO PF450G on a system with a max height of about 6 foot and it worked a treat. the ottos have a very strong flow and will reach that sort of height.

Or even easier still,  ring a few lfs's, it will save driving around.
