Title: Females of any species are confusing????????????????????
Post by: druid on February 10, 2006, 01:43:49 PM
8O I just found what appears to be unfertilised eggs from my Female
Nibochromis fusco on the bootom of her tank . She has been kept by herself  for 8 months with only bristlenoses for tankmates. Has anyone ever seen this type of thing before, if there is no male of same species around ,do the females spawn eggs anyway?

Thanks

Some species will yes, even in the absence of a male.

I've had two female angels both laying eggs at the same time in the same place when they were the only fish in the tank!!!

I've had a female fighter on her own, build a bubblenest and drop her eggs then put them into the nest and look after them for a little while.
