Title: Is It A Girl
Post by: Wolfdog on February 16, 2006, 01:56:34 AM
Hi All,

Have a question needing an answer. Have got 2 Fronnies in a community tank, both purchased together at about 4cm. Now both have grown and now 1 is about 12cm with hump (male I'm guessing) the other is about 8cm no hump. My question is the smaller 1 started digging out pits in the substrate over the last week or so. Is it a girl ???

gday mate,

i dont think anyone can accurately say what sex it is at that size based on its behaviour. the main way to tell with fronnies is to vent sex them (this can be done with pretty high accuracy from about 8cm).

cheers, matt
