Post by: joffbell on February 24, 2006, 05:05:29 PM
I have a sick convict cichlid.

I know they are only cheap and all but she is 4 years old a a pet.

I think that she has an egg stuck in her tube, what can i do to either remove the egg or get her to pass it???

any advice would be great.

try some epson salt over a period of a week or so. depending on the size of the tank and what else you have in with her go with a table spoon /foot of tank.  hope it helps

already tried the salt bathing and it hasn't worked

also tried melafix, pimafix, triplesulfa and paraex

nothing has worked so far.

Is there any other options??

I used rock salt.

It has worked for pretty much everything else but not this.

I would try flagyl, Metro, you probably need to get it from a vet, i know a few stores may have it but you would have to ring around.

Honestly the treatment is worth more than the fish though, but if its a pet.
