Title: What substrate for a 7 footer display tank ???
Post by: Ulysses048 on March 04, 2006, 09:42:14 AM
Recently purchased a 7 footer which we intend to use as a display tank for Africans.
We want to view the tank from both sides and have rock formations going down the middle of the tank.
We need a substrate that is soft enough for the fish to dig in - but also able to support the rock formations.
Has anyone any suggestions ?????

i prefer the fine calcium carb substrate, almost like sand and the fish love to dig in it and sift through it, great buffer too

if you going to use alot of rocks i would reccomend using eggcrate along the bottom of the tank to distribute the weight better.
cheers
