Waiting to hear comments regarding Gold Coast auction.
Would dearly love to have been there - but unfortunately, no tank space at present ... and I just know I would have been tempted to buy !!!!
I'm missing out as well. But unfortunately you can't go to them all.Just like you Ulysses048 I'm keen to find out what was for sale.
Brian.
Like you guys I would have loved to go but is sooooo far, perhaps next time we could pool & go down? I don't mind driving (company car) is along way on own!
Cary
I was going to go, but I sold the last of my fish beforehand so not much point going, as I wasn't going to buy anything.
Had a couple of dry goods going down courtesy of my mule madbob
I just didn't have the spare time to go for the sake of it
Be good to hear from those who went. 8)
yeah i left pretty early i only stayed 2hours or so, but i (should i say my girlfriend) got a nice male humphead about 12cm for $20 he is such a beast :D this was my first auction so i dont know what they are meant to be like but i thought it was really good! i would of liked to stay longer to meet people and see the rest, but my girlfriend was gettin tired and the kids infront of us were gettin loud n crazy, so i decided that was enough. there was heaps of bargains and the venue was great :D
big thanks to all the guys who organised this auction you will definately see me at the next
yer I stayed to the end, seemed to be quite a few tropicals growing thru this time round, but still the main stream fish dominated the lots, picked up a few dry goods before hand (thanks nemo - bargain mate, and dave didnt spend your money). Picked up 5 blue dolphins for $10
A few 7 bar fronts went thru, and peps, o-spots and some plecs...
Much better venue with the AC, microphones and fish pics displayed up on screen.
All in all was quite good, well done to all involved
Steve was i supposed to get money off them guys they told me they were freebies :P And yeah new hall was sweet same old stuff and yes some very small 7 bars 8O
P.S pitty about the drunks at the back
Great venue. The new hall had everything and congratulations to GC club on managing to secure such a great location. Would be wonderful if Brisbane could find one like it and I guess they will continue to look for one. Very expensive to hire and I hope GC club managed to still make a reasonable profit on the night but with such a good venue I think GC Auctions should just grow & grow from here on so probably extra money well spent. Good on you guys.
Cheers Linda
Thankyou guys for all the great feed back.
Yes is was a bit of a gamble taking on a new hall, and only having a few hours to work out how, why and where everything had to go was a real team effort, thankyou to all the gold coast club members who done a stirling job.
i think the big screen, the PA and the air cond made all the difference, also the size of the hall and the comfy chairs.
oh and madbob that wont happen again......
thankyou to all who attended and we'll see you back there in october.
cheers
GCAS
Much appreciated the air-con, thanks G/C club.
thought it was excelent one of the best i've been too some great stuff went thru and the venue kicked ass
The new venue is great,
p.a and big screen makes it so much better.
back dock was a bonus to unload your fish.
heaps of parking.
well done QCAS.
Yep was a great night thanks to everybody involved. I only hope things will just get bigger and better.

no the fun police arnt on the loose, some thing that were said and done, even i had a chuckle to my self about.... but never the less it wont be happening again...
It was a good night, thanks to the organisers. My first auction
I picked up 5 bristlenose, 5 flamebacks, 5 Socolofi & a box of microculture for my Lombardoi fry and only spent $30 - Very happy
Thanks to the young Caboolture fanatic  who kindly donated the stryofoam box to get my purchases home - you know who you are - 35 tanks and counting - hats off to you :P :P :P :P :P
Thanks to the organisers, you did a grand job! Totally impressed with the setup. I would have loved to stay till the end however the boyfriend was eager to get home and setup a new tank (thanks nemo & madbob). I did get 2 awesome looking peppermint bristlenoses & one big normal male bristlenose, huge bag of filter wool and weed for about $60 so I was happy. What bargains did everyone else get?
maybe have a bar next year, that would increase profits!
much fun was had and some good bargains were snapped up by the seasoned competitors.
some of the comments i heard froim the organisers were best aucton ever, biggest money. They didn't seem to uninmpressed with the laughter. :D

No problem Alana :D
And wolfdog what are you on about? "Im pretty sure he was joking Wayne as he bought the beers"
I feel the Auction went well. The raffle prize paid for the rent on the hall which was great and I enjoyed talking crap with Big Kev & Big Brad. The screen presentation was excellent and the Air con was a bonus :D
