Title: Polystyrene tank
Post by: braddo on April 24, 2006, 06:22:56 PM
Ok first experiment of polstyrene box did as grum suggested 2 coats of gloss paint and fibreglass it all that was left this morning was gloss paint no styrene just a mushy mess :(
So I will stick to using a liner to line the boxes and leave the fibreglass to the timber tanks I will make soon.

It was water base paint.
Wayne paint cost me nothing as have heeps here after renovating and fibreglass was next to nothing as I have a mate that built a boat and had a litre sittin around all up about a 6 pack.

oh the matting I got from the hardware which was $12 FOR a metre with trade discount card. But won't be going back for a second trial. Pstyrene boxes were nothin as I get the dregs from a fish shop.

Yea if it was gloss i doubt it was water based, and it would not have left you with a lump of crap if it was water based,

Maybe give it another go.
