Title: bristlenose breeding
Post by: bristlelover on May 11, 2006, 09:20:59 PM
hi does anyone have any idea what size tank is better for a pair of bristlenose. 4 foot or 2 foot. also i have 6 in a 2 foot and there is a breeding pair amongst these. would they not be breeding because of the others in the tank. thanks.

A 2ft should be fine.I've got 7 or 8 peppermints in a 3x2x2 & they are breeding ok.I got home this arvo & a male had 2 females lined up outside his home, hopefully they'll spawn again tonight.
Cheers Brian.

i had 3 male and 4 female bristlenose in a 2x2x18 and they were breeding like mad.
i have found sometimes they take a little settling in.

just give them good water changes weekly, feed them up on wafer or zuchinni and just keep an eye on the logs, shine a torch inside to see if they are sitting on eggs.

hey thanks for the advice. i looked in and the male is in a log flapping away but there is no eggs so i guess he is just getting it ready. thanks.
