Title: Questions bout auction and selling fish
Post by: zoezealand on May 13, 2006, 12:12:47 PM
hello,

I see that there is an auction next weekend :D
what kind of things are likely to be for sale? (ie. is it cichlids, all fish, equipment, tanks??)

also, an unrelated question, if I wanted to sell some fish to my lfs, is there like a set fair price? ie 30% of retail or something? should I ask the same when selling privately or to a Lfs? it would just be run of the mill fish

cheers
kathryn

Hi Zoe
Well I have only gone once and there was just about every thing fish realted , from fish to tanks , plants and rocks and stuff

I find with most lfs they like to trade rather than buy fish
But you will find most will buy your fish 4 the same price they get from their whole saler about the same price as here
But the bigger the fish and the harder they r 2 find the more thay will pay

I hop this helps

Andrew

Generally work on about half the selling price but that really depends on what you've got and how well supplied the shop is in the particular fish you have to sell.
If your quality and size are good you should get a better price though.

Good Luck
