Three years ago I bought six L10 a.  Got three fat ones and three skinny ones hopeing to get at least one pair of these just newly imported fish.

They were a nice "orange" colour when I got them. Now they are more a rusty brown than orange, and the three skinny ones died or disappeared.

I Now have three fat females and have been trying to obtanain at least one male for the last couple of years, but no luck so far.

I did get 2 male "Red lizard" whips, but not the same species. So I am looking for a couple of females to go with them as well.

These ugly things are listed on planet catfish as Sturisoma sp (1), or  "Red royal farlowella".

I would be interested in hearing from any one who has either of these two species.

Alan.

Alan,
Dumb question but where the 2 new males that were a different type  from us?   Just curious,  I loose track of Bob's fish trading which is probably a good thing!
Anyway whatever type we have breed very well. No problems there at all.
Fry are very difficult to raise in numbers though.
They are a problem to feed and obviously need more time and research
than we have been able to give them at this point in time.
Will have to work on it.
Cheers Linda

Linda,

I have no idea where the male "Sturisoma sp 1 " originallycame from.  I was looking for Male L 10a, when I came across those two "Odd Bods".

Goose that I am, I couldn't pass up a couple of new and interesting fish even tho they were both the same sex.... :?

Never got to talk to Bob about them, might have to get our heads together.

Alan it seem's that your 2 Odd Bodds are ours.
Bob sold them to the person you bought them from.
He just sent me PM to let me know they were the same fish so when we have more available I 'll let you know and you can get a couple of girls
Cheers Linda

Hi Linda,

That would be great if and when.

Actually, I have time credits that I can use at Trinity Links Resort, so every chance of going up there and poking around the place for a week or so in the near future.
Be good to see the grumpy bloke for a chin wag.

Alan.
