I currently have a 5L x 2w x 2.5h display tank.Pretty tall tank. I have 2 x fluval 404 cannisters running plus one internel filter. What would be the recommended way to have the filter outlets and inlets facing? (i.e- Both outlets at one end and inlets at the other etc )
I currently have one outlet and inlet at each end facing one another. The problem being is that i have a latex rock background with live grass/weed (looks like turf) growing all over it up to an inch and a half long in places (all the fish enthusiasts and cichlids love it) but it can build up with debris in spots. Im thinking that if the water can turn over more efficiently it might help!
So if any one has tried different ways of this set up can you please give some advice?
Craig,
have you tried positioning the pumps so that they push and create a vortex the same way that water going down a drain will spin (i can't remeber if it is clockwise or anti clockwise). But what that will do is push all the bedris into the middle of the tank if there was enough of a flow going.
Just a thought. let us know if this is any good. You may need a bit more pumping to get it right but in the end , it should get all the debris into the centre of the tank.
cheers.

In the southern hemisphere it will rotate clockwise (flush the dunny & watch!)
