How sweet it is, to support the blues
The poor maroon's were so unlucky, not even a Blackadder performance by the referee or linesman could win them the match. & to be beat by a 2nd rate number 6, & a 4th rate halfback
Maroons were lucky they weren't thrashed, bring on origin number 2.
The Mason steam rolling over Bowan brought a tear to me eye.. reminded my of Lomu v Catt some years ago
& didn't Darren [b:4c49318cd3]"the turnstyle" [/b:4c49318cd3]Lockyer have a blinder, its tackle not touch...also, can someone remind him that Qld health are in crisis & he ain't helping the matter by throwing a sh%t load of hospital passes
Frenchy :D
well it was a good fight back from QLD, what a kick from thurston, imagine the pressure!
have to admit, that willy mason steamroll on bowen was funny as
2 weeks my friend!
What a game
And what a stuff up from the touchie
Reminds me of Indoor frenchy lol
What i loved what Hodges shaping up to Grothe and Grothe driving him with that first right thats what origin is about
but was good to have a close one keeps everyone interested
Cant wait for the next one
Also Steve is actually 3 weeks these days
Brad
I think your'e being a bit harsh there on Lockyer's tackling Justin. Thurston actually missed double as many takles as Lockyer and Anasta missed exactly the same number as Lockyer.
It's funny how people only see what they want to see!!!!
Michael
3 weeks! goddam it ain't fair
For qld to play so bad in the first half, and rubbish passes in the second, nsw were lucky to win by 1 point. At least the maroons didn't run out of steam as much as the last 3-4yrs.
Cheers Brian.
Mate the blues might have had 2 players that were rated lower but Qld had more rookeys and first time origin players and were only beat by 1 point. All I can say is watch out cockies as the rookies have had the nervous start they will be hard to beat now.
It is about time we had a qld team picked on their current standard of play and not because they are liked by the coach and selectors.

Yep & you just proved it with your very own post, well done
I didn't say he was the worse now did I :?:
But
Think about Mick  He is the captain, chief play maker, 7 rookies in the side.... He sets the standard for the team, he failed, simple as that. Correct
He got hit hard early{as planned} & Lockyer didn't take the ball to line all night after that. He put his players in terrible situations, missed a some tackles...great example for a captain & senior player to set for the others don't you think :?:
Lockyer is to Qld, like a wicket keeper is to fielding side in cricket. Sets the standard.
If you can't get that, then you can "assume" all you like. Lockyer should of got blasted for his performance plain & simple. You would never have seen Johns, Langer...perform like that. Then again Lockyer isn't a world class #6, proved last night ah
I do believe Qld will win the 2nd match, Mick can tell you all why
Frenchy :D
Justin
I just dont understand why you take everything so f...ing seriously.
I was just referring to the fact that once origin comes around everyone is so one eyed in favour of the team they support....they see what they want to see...not necessarily what actually happened.
No commentator spoke about the blatant forward pass right in front of the tochie to score the blues second try did they....but boy did the touchie make a stuff up when they gave the penatly against Buderus and qld scores.......
Michael
You hit it right on the mark mickvic. The oldest rule in football, "it's not what you do it's what you get caught doing"is still alive & well.
Cheers Brian.
I got to admit I'm not a big fan of lockyer but that is just my opinion come to think of it I'm not a big fan of the broncos neither (go cowboys) but I am a qld supporter through and through. I do have my reasons for not liking the broncos and bennett. That is why I am happy Meninga is coach(love your work Mal).
I would actually agree with justin (shock horror) I htink there are better choices for captain. And a captain must leed by example. That is my 2 bobs worth.
OK.
If you ask me, Thurston was worse then Lokcy. Young guy just appears to try too hard.
Cheers Mitch
Me serious, Maybe I am having a stir, dig....
I thought your views were a joke, plan & simple. Your comments were based on you reading my mind, I can't even do that
Did you understand my reasoning to the views I gave?
Then again what would I know about sport, oops hang on. Lockyer was even quoted in the Courier Mail as being critical of his own performance. Ta Da.. I could examples of other dribble in the game, I just was disappointed in lockyers lack of direction, leadership... but i thought the game was of a low standard,{the closeness of the game was the only thing that keep the game alive} the commentators are one eyed & forgot about just calling the game, the linesman were shit & Qld were offside & inside the 10 when NSW fullback knocked on resulting in QLD try...
Frenchy :D
ps; I am a kiwi, I follow the blues, hardly one eyed. I enjoyed the Blues loss in the union last week. :P
Tips for QLD selectors......
1: move Lockyer to full back
2: Scott Prince as half-back
3: Thurston as the No. 6
4: bring Bowen off the bench, was largely ineffective starting.
Tips for NSW selctors.......
1: do whatever it takes, sell your first born sons, name a town after him, I don't care, BUT GET JOEY OUT OF RETIREMENT!!!!!!
Disclaimer: [size=9:bccc80de7f]As a Newcastle Knights and NSW Blues supporter, I show no bias in the above pleading for Joey to return. Any and all accusations saying that bias was shown will result in strictly unconvincing denials.[/size:bccc80de7f]
 good one Dave.
The chat at work brought up same tips for QLD. We also wondered if Qld can find any PNG or Kiwi players that maybe eligible... :?
Funny isn't it, Bennet for so long wouldn't put Lockyer in at #6. Then he had to at the end. Now that he is there it's like he won't bite the bullet & put him back, why Qld selectors think the same way :?:
The problem with having so many high class players in a couple of positions, trying to fit them all in. Rather than just pick the best players for each position.
How well did Lockyer go when moved to fullback in the test match... & when Lockyer got the cut above the left eye, he moved to wing, Thurston went to #6 & then as if by magic, QLD started going forward.
Gould was right on one point, you shouldn't play people out of position.
