Title: stripping question
Post by: jason on May 31, 2006, 07:07:18 PM
i just stripped one of my yellows of eggs (i caught the wrong fish and the other had fry in her mouth) and i was wondering how long they take to form. i have them over a stone so they are tumbling but how long do you give them before you give up if they do not form.

If the eggs go white they are no good. Should have noticeable fry in a week approx sometimes sooner sometimes later depending on water temperature. If they are yellow they should hatch.

If they are infertile, chances are they will turn to mush before you decide to do anything to em. If they are fertile then (depending on how old they are) give it 3-4 days and you should see 2 small black dots (eyes),you'll know they are fertile by then.

Wilson.
