Hi all,
Is thinking to add a heater (may be strip wall mounted type) to my fish "wall" and read somewhere that we can add a thermostat to it to control the temperature etc.
Can anyone show me how a thermostat look like and where to get one. if you know how much it is cost will be perfect. :D
Thanks in advance.
bud most heaters have one built in to the unit....dont know any that you can just bolt on!!..
go air cond it will work out way cheaper in the long run and also cool in summer......
Hi Wayne,
it is for the garage. So i don't think I want to have an air con in there.
I am building a wall ard those tank and just after a small heater.
Cheers
If you have some electronics experience you could use a normal aquarium glass heater with a relay to turn of & on the heater. I would use a power pack i.e. 12v Dick smith one fed through the heater with a 10A 240v with a 12vdc coil. the heater will go open curcuit when at temp & closed curcuit when below temp threshold.
If you are confident that you can do this email me at cary.bielenberg.id.au & I can draw up the curcuit.
Cheers Cary
You got a good fire brigade in Springfield?
Hi Cory,
A mate of mine bought a thermostatically controlled floor heater, took it to an electronics place and they hooked up a thermostat that sat in his tanks so it was controlled by water temperature and not air temp. For the sake of a few bucks I'd be taking it to professionals...electricity-water-lack of experience = disaster in my book.

Carey is great at all this sort of stuff.
You should see all the new electric power board gizmos he made up for Caboolture Show.
Hate to admit it but he does know what hes talking about.
