Hey Just wondering and sorry if this has been a killed topic...
What people would recommend for a 250L tank as a filter i'm looking at the:
Fluval 305 Canister Filter
and the
Sacem Marathon 1000
Firstly which would be the best out of these two... Which is quieter which one comes with better media....
Also is there anything else people would recomend as i should be able to get both of these around the $140 mark....
Let me know and thanks for your help.... :D
Cheers
Josh
I'm running a Fluval 305 on a 250litre with a small Fluval internal as well and they are doing a great job.Tank is only lightly stocked but the water is crystal clear and the chemistry is very stable. I'm running a 405 on a 400litre in the same room and you can barely hear them run.
Not a killed topic mate, ask away! :D
I can't speak for Fluvals, but I've got two Sacems including the Marathon 1000 and I find they're pretty good filters. I like the Marathon because you can pack the barrell with whatever you like, and no trays involved so no water bypass whatsoever to the pump head. Simple setup that works well.
They are a little noisey compared to others, but nothing outrageous. I've got a 2000 in the lounge room and we don't notice it all.
Mine are packed with ceramic noodles mostly, with a few layers of foam and fine wool on top. I got my 1000 about 8 years ago and it didn't come with media then, so not sure what they give with it now.
I have a fluval 405 running in my bedroom, very nice & quiet. IMO a good canister, easy to stock up with bits & bobs 8)
Frenchy :D
my god i cant beleive im agreeing with frenchy but i have to say the fluavals are great. great design and very sturdy attachments to attach the hoses to the tank. :P
