Title: Neolamprologus Caudopunctatus Spawned!
Post by: raycam01_au on July 02, 2006, 04:48:29 PM
Well my little pair have done their deed, there are around 30+ little wrigglers in the tank, and its amazing watching these little fellas keep all the other fish away! Small in size but big in heart, will post some pics up of the proud parents soon

Title: Caudo's
Post by: neilm on July 04, 2006, 10:39:56 AM
Well it definitely must be their time.  I bought a pair at the last super auction and they spawned within 3 weeks.  I moved them, and their shell to their own 2x2x1 tank and I now have ~20 fry who are 4 weeks old, and looking at the shell last night, it looks like the pair have been busy again!

The thing I love about the caudo's is that they're constantly showing off that magnificent bright yellow finnage.

Finally, a quick thank you to whoever put them in the auction.

Cheers
Neil

Title: Caudo's
Post by: neilm on July 05, 2006, 09:07:20 AM
Hi all,

My pair of caudo's have spawned for the second time in 4 weeks! I had been told that the adult pair would give the first spawn a hard time when they were ready to go again but they seem to be leaving them alone, even though the first spawn are still hanging around the breeding shell.  They have a 2x2x1 tank to themselves.

Has anybody had experience with these beauties and advise whether I should be trying to move the first spawn (a very difficult task as they are still very small) or just let them be and see what happens.

Appreciate your comments.

Neil

You can remove them by syphon. They usually survive the little rollercoaster ride through the tube with no problems.
