ok, so i have found another fish that i feel is worthy of your attention as a "thinking of a fish" fish. Polypterus ornatipinnis was just a little too hard so you can all now try to guess the new fish :D

Malawi: Yes.

but i think this is a good time to throw in my first clue: This species is found naturally in lake Malawi but it is also an australian native.

is it the mangrove jack (Lutjanes Argentimaculatus) :?:
i heard it occurs in coastal east africa but i dont think as far up as lake malawi...
