Post by: gasnitro on July 30, 2006, 10:48:36 PM
i know it is off topic but i pick up a pair of Sleepy Cod today from my father inlaw to start the first step in tank breeding there is no recording of this. They have a huge order for next year and i am hoping to to have some success in helping them reach this order. the fish are about 40cm+

good luck feeding them!

i had a wild one in a tank for a while, he was going through 8 fresh water shrimp every day, so after a month i let him go again, really messy aswell.

I have heard that they like round things, like tyres, buckets etc

In the dam they hang a board in the water and they lay the eggs on this.
the problem is after they stip the eggs they only get a small amount of servival rate my attemp is to see if i can get atleast 50% then try and teach them to eat.
this is like about 10 000 fry also all fry get exported to china.
i have got to admit they are not bad eating for a ugly fish. :)
