Title: about the import yellows
Post by: gasnitro on August 09, 2006, 09:22:02 PM
i think this is the best place for this
well why would people buy them for $25 when they can buy from here direct http://www.aquatictrader.com.au/cichlids/ for $5 less per fish. :?
so i guess the more you can sell the more freebies
so if anyone is getting some direct and dont mind holding 2 or 3
for me.
the way i see it they should only cost 25 deliverd, not 25+ freight.

I have gone direct but that was before Boyd put his post up. I asked a few people if they wanted to chip in, as to get a box sent from Sydney you need to fill it as in 20 to 30 fish. Costs about $50 to send box.
Everyone I asked just wanted a male or 2- 3 fish. Funny isn't it, everyone wants new lines, but when they arrive.....as if I am going to have 10 people around to my house just to tell me which 1 or 2 they want.
I did find one gent who went halves which is great.

So to answer this question,[quote:36db5e0ab2] so if anyone is getting some direct and dont mind holding 2 or 3
for me. [/quote:36db5e0ab2]  :? No

You might want to get in quick on these. I hear they are dropping like flies down here in Sydney.  :(  Wont be long before there are none left.

good on boyd for being thoughtfull enough to offer these  fish to us,
even if he makes a few bucks on the side and like cosmo said he is doing all the farting around for us which is a real pain for some of us.

how many people r chasing great yellows? nearly everybody. $20-$25 for good size quality fish is very reasonable.

Thats the thing Lloyd, everyone wants new stock, but when you get some in, they all have excuses for not wanting them.

As for until they breed, in my case I have a deal with a lfs, so thats where they are going. So depends on their retail price.

just because you pay a larger price does not mean you will get more $ for  fry. All i was looking for was enough people to to put a box together to save some. if they wanted i would organise it and just split frieght. the way i see it, if a few people got together and bought 20 fish thats free frieght.  and if i did not already have good yellows i would buy a lot more.
so is there anyone interested

Thanks for your vote of confidence Lloyd.

Gasnitro: if you can get a box together i have no problems organising it for you.

Cheers

I'm with frenchy on this one where did that come from. I really don't understand what the fuss is about so what boyd is makin $5 a fish he is the one puttin in the effort it is the same as buying small fish growing them up and selling them for more as adults as the cost of food and stuffin around you have to do to get them there is worth it. Why shouldn't you get paid for the time and effort . Just my 2 cents worth.
