Yep - nothing more then a rip-off !!!

Wouldn't you think car manufactureres would implement these kind of things if they worked???

I mean, they're the ones that are getting hit that hardest (besides the general public)

Just think, 1.5yrs ago, average price = ~90c. Now at $1.80 only half as many people need to drive as much and the same profits for the oil compnay.

I mean what has been done about public transport. Wait till it's too expensive for people to drive and the system is going to fail. We have pretty crappy service times and alot of the assets need updating. Where's this smart card that you scan, I've seen all the techno gadgets at stations and on buses for the last year now, all saying "comming soon" - most of them have been vandalised. It's just utter crap. What's the point of having all the new tunnels, bridges if nobody can afford to use them let alone pay the tolls. Why has the rail-transport system been destroyed and replaced with 40 trucks per train.

Utter bullshit. But what's the point, the polly's will make all the promises in the world, yet nothing will happen.

Public transport is usable at the moment.

i have to use it everyday to get to school. at the station i go to (taringa). none of the expresses stop so if i miss the train i want to catch i have to wait for up tp fourty minutes for the next one

they are always so crowded. i can stand a crowd but not being squished into the door or being hit in the head by someones bag (admittedly i do the hitting sometimes, acidentaly i swear :oops :D  )

in a nutshell: catch the train at 6:00 am or have a painfull trip. the  public transport system can harrdly cope even now.

P.S just this morning i caught the train and got hit in the head by some random's handbag

thats my 2 cents (no, make that 4 cents)

Boy, you must be a little people if you keep on getting belted in the head by someone's handbag.

Did anyone read the article earlier in the week how during peak hour 3-4 buses past by commuters (in Brisbane) saying Bus Full - Sorry. Apparently we need a few 100 more buses, but don't have the curb-space for them to fit OR the output to make them (currently 117 made/year).

I must be a lucky one, the 414 at the early hours runs to buses, one that starts at my stop.

Is the public transport problems a state or council level problem OR both? I think after getting our little letter from Peter Beatie, we should have a close look at where he mentions public transport (from a breif skim I see only Helath and water the issues). I mean what, he's fu*ked them already, needs to fix them, so in four years time when the public transport system is destroyed we'll be getting a letter regarding it.

What crap.
